6 hour Behind the Wheel Training
The Mississippi Department of Public Safety requires eligible student drivers to complete 6 hours of behind-the-wheel training. with guidance from Lieutenant Alexander McGowan.
Training covers safe vehicle operation, awareness of other road users, and responsible decision-making. Depending on your experience and progress, practice may include turns, lane changes, intersections, parking, and everyday traffic situations.

Vehicle requirement: You must provide your own insured vehicle. It must meet Mississippi’s minimum liability limits: $25,000 per person for bodily injury, $50,000 per accident for bodily injury, and $25,000 per accident for property damage. Bring your learner’s permit and proof of insurance to every session.
